Am Zug - a dramatic border(line) experience

Feldkirch is Austria’s westernmost city, a city at the border tied to innumerable stories. Some of these border town stories are dramatically revisited on a train ride between Feldkirch and Buchs in Switzerland: the daily commute, seeking refuge and migration, historic tales of famous emigrants and refugees, as well as a discourse on the sense and nonsense of drawing borders and building walls in a globalized world.

The text for the play is based on research and interviews with people from Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The play involves actors, music and amateurs and strives to make its stories accessible to a broad audience. Performances take place on the 20 km train route between Feldkirch and Buchs, with stops at the old train station Nendeln in Liechtenstein and in the Swiss town of Buchs.
